- Why are white kitchens so popular? White kitchens have grown in popularity over the past few years, largely due to the sheer versatility they provide. Often the first choice in smaller rooms in order to create a feeling of space, a white scheme works just as well in a large, open-plan kitchen, offering something of a blank canvas to which you can add warmth and character through a combination of materials, colours and finishes. A handleless white door front, for example, gives contrast to natural wood grains, marble, glass and metallics, inviting the trend for mixing combinations of materials in the contemporary kitchen. It’s a very versatile choice.
- What are the benefits of white? Perhaps the biggest advantage of opting for a white kitchen is that it won’t look out of place in either a modern or traditional setting. White painted doors pair well with traditional wooden kitchen cabinets and marble work surfaces, while matt or gloss white doors create an ultra modern look in the minimal kitchen. Whatever the setting, a white kitchen will always feel clean and classic and is unlikely to ever go out of fashion.
- How can you personalise the look? A white kitchen also lends itself to splashes of colour being added, perhaps to turn one particular area into a focal point or simply as a highlight to a run of white furniture.
