Revealed: the Simpsons get a home makeover

Using the latest trends to bring the famous family into 2019

The Simpsons family have been on our screens for over 30 years now, they’ve been to space and explored alternate universes, but never thought about redecorating. This in mind, Angie’s List have come together with interior design consultant Pat McNulty to help take the job off Homer and Marge’s hands – after all, they’re pretty busy.

Say goodbye to outdated bold clashing colours and hello to more subtle scandi-inspired tones.

Kitchen: The first room that’s up for a re-paint is the hub of the home and Homers favourite place – the kitchen.

The kitchen has been redesigned in a smart-home style. All the latest tech has been deployed to help the family have more time for their galivanting adventures: a smart fridge, self watering plants and backsplash display. When paired with the fresh sleek tones, the whole space takes on a new life.

Living room: Probably the most famous of all the Simpsons rooms, the living space has retained it’s beloved look but is now on-trend with 2019.

Homer finally has a good place to put his Duff beers thanks to the new bar-trolley. The luxe style used here is tempered to look more liveable with overtones of warm brass and gold. And the old beaten up leather sofa has been upgraded to a luxurious velvet one.

Main bedroom: From painfully colourful to industrial-chic.

‘Industrial’ is one of the most popular trends for 2019, and McNulty has chosen Homer and Marge’s bedroom as the best place to deploy it. The exposed red brick combines well with the neutral tones used throughout to create a calming, restful space. Although Marge might not be too happy with the addition of the huge flat screen tv.

Bathroom: Scandinavian inspired tones now cover the bathroom, and it’s full of eco touches.

Wave goodbye to the small blue square tiles we knew so well, but say hello to a bright clean space any Springfield resident would be proud to own. Bamboo toothbrushes, plants and natural wooden surfaces combine here to match our new focus on environmentally friendly spaces. Plus the new white oval bath looks big enough to fit even Marge’s hair comfortably inside.

What do you think of the new home-makeover?
